1. Introduction

Angel Gunner Tutor is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students aged

14-16 under our care. This policy outlines our safeguarding responsibilities in accordance

with the UK legislation ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (KCSIE).

2. Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We will:

• Provide a safe and supportive environment for students.

• Ensure that all tutoring interactions are conducted professionally and in line with

safeguarding best practices.

• Take appropriate action to protect students from harm, abuse, neglect, and

exploitation.

3. Tutor Responsibilities

• Hold a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

• Follow safeguarding training and guidance.

• Conduct online sessions via secure, appropriate platforms with parental/guardian

awareness.

• Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the appropriate authorities.

4. Online Safety & Communication

• Tutoring sessions should be scheduled and conducted in a safe and monitored

environment.

• Tutors will only use approved communication channels (no personal phone

numbers or social media).

• A parent/guardian must be informed of all tutoring sessions.

5. Reporting Concerns

• Any safeguarding concerns must be reported to the Local Authority Designated

Officer (LADO) or Children’s Social Care Services.

• In case of an immediate threat, we will contact 999 or the NSPCC Helpline (0808

800 5000).

6. Parental Involvement

• Parents/guardians are encouraged to monitor lessons and maintain open

communication with tutors.

• Any concerns should be raised promptly with Angela Gunner via

7. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually or as required to ensure compliance with safeguarding

legislation and best practices.
